I wish the wind and lightning would stop. But in the rescue ship I confidently expect to reach harbor. My hope does not disappoint.

God sent his Son Jesus Christ into this world to draw the lightning to himself and away from us. While the waves still heave, “we who have taken refuge have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us. This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast.” God is not man’s invention. He is not shaped by art and man’s devising.

The weather is here. We are in the storm. But our safe arrival home is sure. We will live tomorrow with God who saves. Therefore we can live today for God who is love.
